If you are on orders to transfer to Fort Polk, and you are within a 45-mile radius of a military installation (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard) go to the Family Service Center or Army Community Service Center and ask that a “Plan My Move” packet on Fort Polk be printed for your use. If you are not located within a 45-mile radius of an installation, you may request a copy of the “Plan My Move” packet to be sent to you by visiting the following web site: www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil.

If you are on orders for Fort Polk and plan on flying to the area, book your flight to the Alexandria International Airport in Alexandria, LA. There you will find a Fort Polk welcome display (near the baggage area) with the taxi phone number. Simply call the taxi for transportation to post (no fee is charged if you have a copy of your assignment orders). If you arrive on post Monday thru Friday between 0700 and 1600, report to Bldg. 1830 (Consolidated In/Out-Processing Center), on the corner of Alabama Avenue and 14th Street. If you arrive on a non-duty day or after hours, report to the Warrior's Keep (Bldg. 1635) on Utah Street.

Should a situation arise preventing you from reporting by the date stated on your orders, you must contact one of the following immediately:

NCOIC, IN/OUT Processing - Commercial (337) 531-6119.  DSN Prefix is 863

Immediately upon arrival, all permanent party officers and enlisted soldiers must report as follows:

Duty hours (most weekdays 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.) report, in proper military uniform, to the Control Desk, Consolidated In/Out-Processing Center, Bldg. 1830, on the corner of Alabama Avenue and 14th Street.

Non-duty hours (weekdays 4:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m. and weekends, holidays) report to the Warrior's Keep CQ Desk, Bldg. 1635, located on Utah Avenue.
