The mission of the Financial Readiness Program (FRP) is to proactively educate the Soldiers, Family members, retirees and DoD civilians of Fort Polk in matters of personal financial responsibility. In addition to offering weekly basic money management classes, FRP offers special personal financial management and consumer education classes that target specific financial issues.

The objective of the program is to enhance and maintain mission readiness and quality of life by teaching Soldiers, Family members, retirees and DoD civilians how to be informed and responsive consumers.

Financial Readiness Program Services

Budget Counseling:  Financial counselors help clients develop a realistic budget and maintain proper financial records.  This is a one-on-one confidential session designed to help you identify your financial needs and develop realistic personal and financial goals.

Debt Management Program:  Let Financial Readiness and InCharge Debt Solutions help you get out of debt! InCharge Debt Solutions works with your creditors to consolidate your consumer debt into one monthly payment, eliminate late fees, and lower your interest rates so you can become debt free!

Consumer Affairs and Complaint Resolution:  Have your consumer rights been violated? If so, you can file a DA Form 5184-R* Consumer Complaint and submit to our financial counselor at ACS. When filing a complaint please attach all relevant and supporting documentation (for example warranties, bill of sale, correspondence with merchant).

Food Vouchers:  The emergency food voucher (made payable to the commissary) is intended to assist active duty and retired military Families with food in an emergency, not to exceed 3 days.

Financial Statements:  Information representing the financial status of a client, in the form of an income and expense statement, can be prepared upon request.

Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA):  FSSA is a program designated to increase the Service member’s Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS).  A Financial counselor will pre-screen military applicants to determine if the Family qualifies.

Specialty financial education classes are available upon request.

*Our office also assists units and FRGs in providing financial and consumer training. To request a specialty class, call or click here to email.
