Welcome Baby Program

Description:

The Welcome Baby Program was developed for New Parents to receive FREE preventative education and support needed from New Parent Support Group (NPSP) Staff in order to confidently and effectively care for their newborns.
Discusses topics, such as child care and sibling issues, with family as needed.
Hospital Visit: Introduce family to NPSP services provided while allowing family to become familiar with NPSP Home Visitor. Program provides family opportunity to receive hospital photos of newborn and place birth announcement in Guardian. Packet provided to families has several resources to assist in caring for infant. Program offers special souvenir Baby Certificate signed by CG and Baby Orders completed by GC.
Home Visits: Scheduled by NPSP Home Visitor within the first two weeks of discharge from hospital. Program offers Photos taken at hospital, Nursery Safety Check and Family Needs Screener at this visit. If service requested by family, Home Visitor will deliver Baby Certificate and Baby Orders if available at time of visit Purpose is to assist new parents regarding questions/concerns about care of the infant, provide information on child-proofing, review Shaken Baby information, and discuss feeding and sleeping issues as needed.
