Logistics

Mission: Directs the development, coordination, and supervision of functions pertaining to logistical support of the Garrison, Senior Mission Commander, and satellite and tenant activities. Directs operations of supply, transportation, maintenance, ammunition quality assurance, logistical planning, and other logistical services and related matters. Advises the Garrison Commander, Senior Mission Commander, and Director SWR on matters pertaining to logistical support.

We provide the following support to the Fort Polk community:

Since June 2003 the major mission functions for Logistics was awarded in an A76 competition to AECOM/EAGLE Group. The Director of Logistics and staff interface daily with the contractors, through the Contracting Officer Representatives (COR's) to insure mission accomplishment. Functions that continue to be managed by the Government are as follows:

Transportation - Unit Movement provides deployment support and management of the Passenger Processing Facility (PPF) at Alexandria International Airport (AIA) and the consolidated Rail Head.

Transportation - Material Movements - Inbound and Outbound freight.

Transportation - Household Good Inspections.
