Welcome to the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk!  Fort Polk is a proud and enduring installation whose history began in 1941.  It is the world's finest joint combat training center and serves as a world-class power projection platform for rapid deployment forces.  Fort Polk is exceptionally well suited to support the 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, one of the Army's new infantry brigade combat team units of action (BCT/UA), and the new 1st CSB (ME) (P).  The new BCT/UA is a highly deployable unit and will enhance the Army’s ability to project power from CONUS bases while simultaneously preparing forces for full spectrum operations.

Upon arrival to Fort Polk you must report to Consolidated In and Out Processing, building 1830, Alabama Avenue.  They can be contacted by calling DSN 863-2207 or commercial (337) 531-2207.  If you arrive during non-duty hours, report to the Magnolia Guest House, building 522, Utah Avenue, South Fort.  The guest house may be contacted at (337) 531-2941.

For more information concerning Fort Polk or your assignment, visit our website at www.jrtc-polk.army.mil or write or phone strength management at ACofS, 6661 Warrior Trail, Fort Polk, LA  71459-5339, DSN 863-1109/1191 or commercial (337) 531-1109/1191.

G1 provides an initial letter welcoming Soldiers to post, containing a point of contact, as well as unit of assignment.  Individual units will provide follow-on details and unit specific information, along with a unit sponsor and contact information.

The  major subordinate command (MSC) you will be assigned to at Fort Polk (i.e. 1st CSB(ME)(P), 4th BDE 10 Mountain Division, Operations Group) is largely governed by which MSC your branch has pinpointed you to.  For the most part, and with few exceptions, if your orders state:

JOINT READINESS TNG CT
