Legal Assistance offers free tax preparation and electronic tax filing to the Fort Polk Community at building 2502 located at the corner of Alabama and 23rd Street. From January 25 through April 15, 2010, assistance is available at the Installation Tax Center. Call 531-1040 during this period for more information or to schedule an appointment. During the tax season, the tax center will be open M,T,W, F from 0900-1600, Thursday 1100-1900 and Saturday from 0900-1200. Walk-ins are accepted on a limited basis pending availability and at the discretion of the Tax Center Manager. The best times for a walk-in are 0900 and 1300, but remember that appointments have priority.
