Text Box: Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs) serve as the “eyes and ears” of the contracting officer (KO) at the contractual place of performance or as otherwise designated by the KO. With that in mind, requiring activities should nominate only those individuals with the technical knowledge to ensure the contractor is providing what the Government requires in accordance with the Performance Work Statement of the contract applicable to their procurement.

Depending on what type of COR you have been nominated as, you must meet the minimum educational requirements prior to appointment as a COR by the KO. ACC Pamphlet 70-1, pp. 6-8 cover the training required for Type A, B, and C designated CORs. The KO will make the determination of the type of COR required for the procurement. Additionally, if you are a current COR, you MUST complete refresher training every three years. The VCE-COR website user guide is here.
