Hunting Information
Welcome to the Fort Polk WMA Public Information Site.
Note:
For hunters that don't have the proper credentials
for gaining access to Fort Polk, we have opened a permit station in the big parking
lot adjacent to the Alligator Lake entrance.
Directions to this station are: From La. Hwy. 28, proceed South on La. Hwy. 469 approximately
1.6 miles from the flashing light. The permit station is located on the left approximately
0.3 mile inside the post boundary but outside the perimeter check.
Operating hours are 0800-1630, Mon.-Fri and 0530 to 1200 on Sat, Sun and Holidays.
NOTE: This
will also serve as the North Fort Either-Sex Deer Permit Station instead of Bldg.
7654, Post Game Warden's Office.
Hunting permits must be obtained prior to hunting during any special hunt or
regular season.
Note: You should check the maps posted at hunter check stations for updated information. This schedule is subject to change for urgent training priorities. Just in case, it's recommended you call the Fort Polk Game Warden Office prior to traveling long distance to hunt here at Fort Polk.

Please be sure to read all of the information here as well as the regulations for hunting, fishing, and trapping at Fort Polk and Peason Ridge before planning your trip.

for the Fort Polk area, the date the map was posted are identified next to
the map. The closed areas for that date will be indicated in light red. Once
the map is displayed, you can right click on the map to access menu options
such as zoom in, zoom out, and print
