Public Information Office

Members of the media who would like to visit the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk to interview Soldiers, or cover a particular event must contact the Deputy Public Affairs Officer. Media representatives must be escorted by a public affairs officer while on the installation.

Media requests during normal duty hours, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. 4 p.m. CST, should be directed to the deputy at (337) 531-7203 or via email. After duty hours, on weekends and holidays, immediate requests for information should be directed to the on-call Public Affairs Officer, available by calling (337) 531-1726.

External TV, Radio and Print Media
Contact the Deputy Public Affairs Officer at (337) 531-7203 at least 5 days in advance.

The Guardian
Contact the Command Information Officer at (337) 531-1392 at least 5 days in advance.

Media Interaction Training
Media training is available to the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk units and organization. Though a briefing can be customized for the audience, the standard formats currently available are Media Awareness for Soldiers, Media Awareness for Military Families and Care Team training. Contact the Public Information Officer to schedule a briefing.
